GloPoWriMo: Day 11

It’s the eleventh day of GloPoWriMo and today’s prompt was to write a poem that addresses the future, answering the questions “What does y(our) future provide? What is your future state of mind? If you are a citizen of the “union” that is your body, what is your future “state of the union” address?”

I really struggled with this one but have written a poem loosely based on the future, or at least fortune telling, inspired by the tarot.  I hope you enjoy it.

Decked

The wheel of fortune spins
The magician holding your fate in his hands
Judgment is upon you
Will you get the world?
Or a star
Even if you were shooting for the moon?
If the devil brings
Death to your
Sun
You can be sure justice will be served
Even if you need strength
For a while to steer your chariot
And keep your tower up
Lovers will come and go
The empress
Or emperor of your heart
Becoming the hanged man
And you being a hermit
With the hierophant
And high priestess
Teaching you temperance

Or perhaps we will all end up fools
